disillusioned taxi driver and donating ::

met an disillusioned taxi driver yesterday. he's a divorcee, apparently i think he's at the dating game again. and he'd so far concluded that women in the 30s go for money. eh.. i really didn't know what to say. well, how can a 20 something year old comment on that?

anyway, was glad that the topic changed to Huang Na - the little girl who was missing and subsequently killed. apparently, it was reported that the mom held singaporeans responsible for her death. and many singaporeans afterwhich said she's not worth donating to.

my 2 cents worth! she indeed had lost her daughter in singapore and a lot of parents would have felt her pain and loss. however, well, she shouldn't have accused singaporeans of that lah. isn't it a bit ironic? does that mean that if you get aids in china, you can accuse the whole china population? duh. anyway, i think donations should just come from the heart and irregardless whether the person is bad, or has been bad, if you feel for him/her prediacament and his/her pain and had subsequently decided to donate, you should stop harping about whether it is worth donating or not. because at the point of donating, you'd felt that it is worth it and thus action accordingly.

same goes for objective of donating. if you're not comfortable then don't relent to the pressure of donating. if you're donating just to 'ji de' then i say, you might as well don't donate. totally defeats the purpose. humph.

i thought soliciting and touting is a crime and now it has become one of our national hobby by virtue of someone elses' situation and someone elses' kindness and someone elses' wanting to get cca points. bah!

yes, i agree that its time that our welfare organisation should get more commercialised and but please, with consideration and ethics please. thank you.
