exhilarating day *woah!* ::

just witness a bit of action, just HAVE to blog it! Was at S11 at Clementi just now and a commotion broke out. Someone a few tables away from us knocked a Tiger beer bottle on another person's head and blood was dramatically oozing out from his head! My goodness! I was flabbergasted! And being civic-minded, or if you like it, kaypoh, immediately reached for my friend's hp [since mine was out of batt] and dialled 995! The blood was like deep crimson, slightly darker than the normal red! Yes I know blood IS red. But its like.. i-have-a-serious-injury red! Ouch ouch! That must have hurt man! I know cos earlier on, the klutzy lil me had pong-ed my own head with my sword and as a result, lost a couple of neurons! [my neurons! what a waste!]

I was half expecting my shi xiong to unsheath his sword and flash his glorious swordplay. :P Okay lah, Im crapping. But its like shock, trauma everything all at once. After a few exchange of gibberish, another attacker tried to use his leg to zham [sorry, couldn't find the right word for it, kick is too mild] the wounded guy and whacked his milo glass on the table a couple of times. By this time, the wounded guy's shirt was soaked with blood. Poor guy! Then the 2 attackers walked away from the scene with a lady with curly bombastic shouldar-length hairdo.

Then my shi xiong and his 2 friends changed tables to sit further away from them and watched them! Argh! I couldn't believe what they did. My first thought was to run away to another coffeeshop.

Anyway, by then, I was already on my way to the neighbouring coffeeshop. But am still slightly shaken and wanted to get away lest the attackers knew Im the one who called ambulance and come after me with their Tiger beer bottles. *shudders*

Yupe, went back to my company just now and Im one step to perm position in the company. My boss reminded me to come on the usual working hours to work. And my church website is completing.. Yay! so happy...

Went for wushu today too. Learnt a lot from master coach by only talking. Yupe, he's the one with the ability to make people fly and I kid you not. We tried to manhandle him the other time in China and all of us, ALL of us ended up flat on the ground faced down and some more unfortunate ones were "flown" to the other end of the room.

He related a bit of wushu history to me and explained the meaning behind Huang Fei Hong's shadowiess kick [Wu Ying Jiao] and Yong Chun Quan[Wing Chun].

The Shadowless Kick got its name because during Huang Fei Hong's era, the guys were dressed in "ma gua". This costume with a flap of cloth on the front and back. Like a guy's version of cheong sum. So when Master Huang Fei Hong kicked his leg, the front of his "ma gua" will just erm, flap a bit and he was so fast, that people didn't see his leg coming and ended up sprawled on the floor. So hence, Shadowless Kick.

And Yong Chun Quan was invented by a girl and she had actually used it against Shaolin monks and defeated them before. *woah* And its cheorographed by observing cranes using their wings to defend themselves and them pecking the intruder/attacker/whatever. Wow.

Yay, my master coach later asked my coach to request the 2 China coaches to bring double swords to SG when they come to SG later. So that I can learn!! So nice of him! Yay! But let's hope jiao lian remembers to ask and to TEACH me. :P

Anyway, 2 or 3 China coaches will be coming to SG to perform in SP wushu's display 8 Nov. And they are really jawdroppingly good. They can do all the stunts without warm ups! And they can scream at you while backfacing you if you didn't execute your moves to their satisfaction. That's what I call "having eyes at the back of their head". I hope Zhu laoshi won't asked to see my long tassel routine. I'll be a major embarrassment. Shit.

Now that I'd done some introduction on the China laoshis, I must also say something about my own wushu team right? Yah, my 4 coaches are performing and they ARE good too. With 1 formerly from SG national team longside Vincent Ng, 2 from provisional team and 1 from China provincial team, each doing their forte weapons.. And my juniors and of course me! So you guys have to come okay! :) If the people can't convince you, then allow me to tell you this, SP wushu team is one of the best school teams around. We train like there's no tomorrow one. So your 8.5 bucks is definitely worth it. Warning though, its a overwhelmingly chinese event, like most traditional cultural clubs. So at certain points I find it quite cheesy too. :P But nevertheless, come okay. Email me for tickets! :)
